Mr. Clarence Benjamin, Jr. of Fairburn, GA entered into eternal rest on September 27, 2012.

He was born in Camden, SC  to the late Clarence Benjamin, Sr. and Mable McCarley Benjamin.  He was educated in the schools of Camden, SC and began a life of religious training at St. John Baptist Church in Camden.  He was inducted in the U.S. Army for three years, then moved to Buffalo, NY.

He married Addie Thompson of Camden, raised one son, Clarence Darrel Benjamin. He was employed by the Greater Buffalo Press as Lead Pressman, then moved to Denver, CO and remarried to Deloris Manuel of NY (Widowed.)  He was employed by the Denver Post as a Senior Pressman after which he retired and moved to Atlanta, GA and befriended Mary Sue Drakeford Trusdale of Camden.

Mr. Benjamin was liked by all. He loved his family, friends and the Bible and all those that embarked on the same journey.

Wake services will be held Wednesday October 3, 2012 from 6-7p.m. at Greater Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. 4555 Campbellton Rd. SW Atlanta, GA with remains placed in state at 5p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 6, 2012 at 1 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church 3238 John G. Richards Rd. HWY 97 Camden, S.C. with remains placed in state at noon. Rev. Eddie C. Moore, Pastor. Interment church cemetery. Visitation Friday October 5, 2012 at noon at Cooke Funeral Home Memorial Chapel 1109 Lyttleton St. Camden, S.C. Wake 5-7 p.m. He is survived by son Clarence D. Benjamin and grandson Corey D. Benjamin. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 12:30p.m.

Those left to cherish his fond memories, celebrate his Homegoing and grieve his passing are his son, Clarence Darrel Benjamin; Grandson, Corey Derrel Benjamin; two step grandsons, Jesse Hughes and Alan Benjamin of New York; eight sisters-in-law, Lena Jones Benjamin of S.C., Beatrice Benjamin, Alline Manuel Davis of New York; four brothers-in-law, Glenn Thompson, Buddy Thompson, Everett Thompson of S.C., and Lewis Manuel of New York; six neices, seven nephews, six great nieces, three great nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
